History

Serving the veterans of the Intermountain area for generations.

The Burney Veterans Memorial Hall stands as a gathering place for those who have served our nation and for the community that supports them. Home to VFW Post 5689 (Burney Intermountain) and American Legion Post 441 (Samuel Burney), the Hall has long been a center for meetings, ceremonies, mutual support, and community events in Burney and the surrounding Shasta County communities.

Veterans groups such as the VFW and American Legion use the facility for post business, social activities, and service to fellow veterans. The Hall also hosts community programs, including commodity distribution and partnership events with local organizations. It remains a living memorial β€” not only a building, but a place where service continues long after the uniform is put away.

We welcome contributions of photographs, stories, and historical records from members and families. Contact the Post if you have materials to share for the Hall’s history.
